Noeh was one of the pool concierges I reached out to on social media and he was especially helpful in renting the cabana. Junior and Caleb for rocking the service at the cabana. Nataly for her sweet smiles, super friendly and made the best omelets in the buffet. Jonathan for the exceptional service for our romantic dinner on the beach. She also worked hard to find a personal water bottle I misplaced. Some staff we want to recognize are: Elizabeth, one of the pool concierges that went out of her way to check in to see how we were doing. The staff is amazing! Friendly, polite and work very hard. People from the cruise ships get day passes to visit the resort a couple days a week. ![]() The rooster made himself known several times before sunrise each day. We regularly heard sirens, dogs barking and a (many more than on) rooster. The music at the pool and restaurants and the lobby areas. We did complain to the managers and received a special dinner and an apology from the manager. We loved the cabana, but our time was interrupted by staff taking over the upper level to set up for a private party. The waves are large which makes it difficult to stand and walk in the water. The beach is rocky and is difficult to walk on without shoes. Other resorts we have stayed were much more vigilant about keeping the vendors away from the guest areas. It was an annoyance to not be able to just enjoy the view of the water without the distractions of the vendors. They are supposed to stay behind a rope fence, but frequently walk through the chairs. Vendors on the are constantly trying to get your attention to purchase their things. If you like them/must have you need to bring your own supply. It also has a large cooler with water, beer, soda and a bottle of liquor as part of the rental. The cabanas have servers that will bring you drinks and lunch. This cabana has a large whirlpool that overlooks the beach. Three are two side by side but with greenery to block the view. We did reserve a Cabana Oasis on the Now side and highly recommend. Our first dinner was at the Mexican restaurant and we were disappointed in the quality of the food. We would recommend! Thank you Jose! Oceania for lunch is ok, but better for dinner. We did have dinner in the wine room with a special menu. Restaurants we loved: Himitsu - ate there twice, Castaways, Capers and breakfast in the buffet. Children were not in the Secrets side, but were in some of the restaurants on the Now side. Secrets and Now Amber share restaurants and some entertainment. As others stated, we made a point of getting up early (by 7) to place towels on chairs that had shade. The pool area was busy with games, music and lots of people hanging out. There are two large pools and a small pool and whirlpool on the Secrets side. There are limited palapa huts on the beach for shade. Getting refills for the fridge was a hit or a miss. The refrigerator in the room had beer, a variety of soda and water. There is a chair and desk/desk chair in the bedroom area that are both more for looks than function. The preferred and other higher level rooms have larger balconies. There is a small narrow balcony with two tiny chairs and a side table. ![]() The toilet has its own small room and the glass shower has frosted glass in strategic areas. There are gauze curtains that may be closed for some privacy. ![]() The views of the coastline, the mountains and the water are beautiful! Typical of other Secrets hotel rooms the bathroom is open to the bedroom area. We stayed in a Junior Suite Ocean view room on the 12th floor. It was our first visit to Puerto Vallarta and this resort. My husband and I just returned home after a week at Secrets Vallarta Bay.
